DEX 101 is a two-hour workshop that will show you how to DJ. The strictly hands-on introductory program held at Club U.N. in Montreal in May and June only will provide you with all the fundamentals you need to get started in spinning vinyl, CDs or digital DJing no matter the musical style or choice.

Top 1O Things To Expect From DEX 101
During the two-hour workshop you fully can expect to:
1) Know what every single piece of DJ gear does and have a clear sense of how it operates as part of a professional DJ setup.
2) Determine which DJ style is suitable for your music taste, interest and aspirations. Vinyl? CDJ? Digital? Hybrid set-up?
3) Perform a basic DJ mix, a transition between two songs, and tell whether it was a hit or miss. Furthermore, you will learn all about timing and the importance of track selection and programming.
4) Understand the importance of counting beats and why it’s truly the ultimate secret to mesmerizing DJ skills. Plus, you will be let in on a simple trick to get the beat right, all the time (although you’ll need to practice it to make perfect).
5) Experience the thrill of playing in the DJ booth of Club UN, Montreal’s world-class nightclub that has welcomed prominent local and international DJs such as Angel Moraes, Satoshi Tomiie, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, Ultra Naté, Hector Romero, Black Coffee, Osunlade, Wally Lopez, Steve “Bear” Sas, Christian Pronovost, jojoflores and more.
6) Determine what DJ setup is ideal for you. If you’re interesting in taking on DJing as a hobby or profession, DEX 101 workshop will help you make an informed and wise decision.
7) Discover a little-known secret of having full access to the best professional DJ equipment in the world without paying through the nose. This way you can see if DJing is for you or not without wasting a fortune.

9) Get discount deals from Moog Audio, the premier DJ equipment store in Montreal. Moog Audio is a supporter of our DEX 101 initiative to teach children around the world how to DJ and as a special courtesy have extended the “family and friends” pricing to DEX 101 participants in Montreal.

“JaBig is a wonderful teacher and friend. A wild enthusiast about all sorts of music (although a house DJ himself, he taught me how to spin hiphop) JaBig is the ideal mix of patience and knowledge to help young, potential DJ’s realize their dreams.
Whether you wish to learn on CD players, turntables, or Traktor; whether you want to get into House, hiphop, or Funk & Soul; whether you want to spin for fun or spin professionally, trust me, JaBig’s your man.
Not only did he help me spin in clubs all over Montreal, but even now, three years after moving out of the city, I still rely on the skills JaBig taught me for the gigs I have today.
“-DJ M’Leah (Montréal, Canada)
